Today we headed out to a new restaurant that we had not been to before and ended up getting a cool two for one adventure. Our original destination was a vegetarian restaurant named Viet Chay. What we knew was that they were supposed to serve up great food, at good prices, in a really nice location. What we didn't know was that the restaurant is located on the grounds of the biggest Pagoda in the city.
The restaurant did not disappoint us at all. The food was amazing and the space was super cool. What else was really neat was that it was essentially us and a bunch of monks dining. We stuck out like a sore thumb but nobody gave us strange looks and we ended up getting a big thumbs up from the monk at the next table.
To make sure that we took full advantage of this two for one adventure, after lunch we explored the pagoda. The complex is massive but still very peaceful and beautiful. From the monks relaxing in their dorms with doors open to kittens sprawled in the sun, this pagoda provided great insight into the everyday life of the holy residents in Saigon.

The inside of the restaurant was cool. It was essentially all glass allowing tons of natural light to come in. |

Hot and Sour Soup. Absolutely amazing. |
|
It was a blazing hot day. As you can see we are the only people crazy enough to be hanging out in the sun. |

That is one big bell. Dang. |

This pagoda is huge and actually has a large dorm that houses lots of monks. Here is a small peak into the home of a monk. |
