We love coffee. This is a statement that is 100% true.
Not better, not worse, just different is how we could describe coffee in Vietnam. Here in Vietnam there are no 74 oz. coffees (with free refills) that are available in the States. Coffee in Vietnam is served in very small quantities, but usually is high quality and almost always very high potency. Since the first time we drank Vietnamese coffee we have described it as rocket fuel. It is very tasty rocket fuel, but still the caffeine levels could send something to the moon.
There are many places to get coffee in the city. Some establishments are fancy, some are quirky, and some are just simple and to the point. No style of coffee shop is better than the other, but while at work we find ourselves always as the "simple and to the point" type of coffee shop. For 6,000 VND (about 25cents) you get a great cup of coffee. You can take your coffee to go or relax in the pre-school size plastic chairs set up along the sidewalk. It is going to be hard to readjust to $4.00 cups of coffee back home.

Some would call this a mobile food stand with lots of Pepsi logos. We would call this a coffee shop. |

Adam's coffee man working his magic. |

In the morning Adam gets his coffee from the parking lot. It is like a drive up coffee window, but the window has prison bars. At least the coffee is still always served with a smile. |
