There are tons of mopeds in Vietnam. 98.5% of all urban households own a motorbike. Each household owns an average of 1.7 motorbikes with over 20 million households in the country. There are currently over 33 million motorbikes in Vietnam. "Motorbikes here are like family. Babies learn fearlessness on them. Kids grow into adults with them. Boys court their future wives on them. Racing them is rite of manhood. Old men sleep on them. In Vietnam, people are more attached to their bikes than to some of their family," says Patrick Sharbaugh of Vietnam Vespa Adventure. Recently a French photographer came to town to document Saigon motorbike culture and the crazy traffic that it creates. See if you can find us riding our bike, Flowanda, in the madness.
